Lady GaGa tops the charts - for style and music
Lady GaGa (Joanne Stefani Germanotta) had a love of music from age 4 and by age 14 was playing at open-mic shows in New York. Singing in school musicals and in various bands eventually led to appearing in burlesque shows.
Her songwriting was also noticed and she has been hired as a songwriter for many top names - including Fergie, Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears and New Kids on the Block. Then Akon signed her and Lady GaGa also worked with performance artist Lady Starlight to create onstage fashions.
The relationship with Akon enabled GaGa to develop her own material for a debut album with producer RedOne. With a solid selection of electro-glam tracks inspired by David Bowie and Queen, the first single, Just Dance, has climbed the charts.
GaGa cites Donatella Versace as her muse and finds any comparisons to Christina Aguilera as “flattering”. Well, as the photo shows, Lady GaGa on set for her new music video suggests she may already be into her own “Dirrty” phase.
