New Download Chart Record
New Amazon on the music scene, X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, has been setting new chart records with her debut single, starting when it broke the record for most downloads in its first day of release.
Hallelujah has sold more downloads in its first two days than the previous record holder sold in a week, breaking another download chart record. By selling over 149,546 copies on download after only two days on sale, it will set a new highest selling download record in a one week period .
The previous record for the most downloads in one week was held by Leona Lewis, the X Factor winner from 2006, when her single A Moment Like This sold 139,000 in seven days.
Reality tv shows like X Factor are gruelling, demanding and fierce, and do bring talent out into the open. To win these shows takes tremendous strength and skill, so Leona and Alexandra are another two examples of modern Amazons we like to praise.
